If you are a Windows user, then you surely know that every file has a specific extension, which is associated with a specific program. This association allows you to open a specific extension with a program when double clicking on the file. There are situations when the extension for a file is corrupted and that file cannot be opened in a normal way. This is where FileCure comes in.

This Windows program can scan your computer for file extension problems and can fix any of them fast. Of course, you could use Windows to manage file extensions, but FileCure does this much better and with a higher efficiency. After installing and running the software, you will be presented with a graphical interface, in which all the buttons are optimally placed and easy to access.

In order to scan for file extension problems, you should only click on the "Start scan" button. Soon, FileCure will start looking for extension problems and will try to fix them automatically. For this, you just need to click on the "Fix now" button. Besides automatically fixing extension problems, you can fix them yourself. You just need to type the extension for which you would like to associate a new application and the program will offer complete information about this extension.

Recent changes to file associations can be also monitored by FileCure in real time, which is really useful for fixing file association problems without having to open the file whose extension is causing problems. Another useful feature is the possibility of scheduling extension scanning tasks, in order to occur at specific hours and days.

Pros

It can scan and fix file extension problems with a single click. Besides that, it allows you to manually fix file extension problems. Furthermore, you can schedule automatic scans. Moreover, it can monitor file extension changes in real time.

Cons

The trial version can only work for 30 days. Using FileCure you can easily fix file extension problems.
